Back in the USA

This is all of us at 4 AM at Krakow airport. We all felt pretty good considering the early hour. Flight to Frankfurt was uneventful, but we landed a bit late and there was only 45 min until flight time for the 3 of us heading to O’Hare to connect back to the Carolina’s. We left Mary in Frankfurt as she had a 4 hour layover until her flight to Dulles. Teresa, Kay and I rushed as fast as we could to gate and when we got there it was still unloading previous flight. So we had time to breath and take some pics.

We were so thankful that we had checked all of our heavy bags as there were so many flights of stairs in Frankfurt from the gate to the bus to get to the plane. The flight was otherwise uneventful. I napped even though I didn’t want to and Kay was awake even though she thought she would sleep. Kay had the gentleman in line behind her with boarding checking out our blog before he got on the plane. My seat mate was from Germany and in the US for the first time – headed for Detroit for work for 5 days.

The walk to Border Security was VERY long but the line was not. We were all very happy when our luggage came through.

Getting from Terminal M to Terminal was made easier with the tram (that I didn’t even know existed). Going back through Security was a PAIN. Kay and I rewarded ourselves with some alcohol and a toast in Polish – Nas Trovia (this is phoenitic and nothing to do with how it is actually spelled.)

Now for the final flight. We look forward to hearing that Mary landed at Dulles and that her luggage arrived as well.
